Eddie Kadi emotional as he’s fourth star to be axed from Strictly Come Dancing

Comedian Eddie Kadi has become the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing.

The 40-year-old funnyman was axed along with his show pro partner Karen Hauer on Sunday night (October 22) following a tense dance-off. Eddie and Karen found themselves in the bottom two with Love Island star Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima.

But it was Zara and Graziano who were saved by the judges, with head judge Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opting to save them rather than keep Eddie and Karen in the competition.

Eddie was graceful in defeat and gave an emotional speech in front of host Tess Daly and the judges, where he admitted his career had had highs and lows before the show. He said: “I’ve got a whole new family, with my guys up there…”

He proceeded to point up at his fellow castmates before continuing: “I came into Strictly because it was always something I wanted to do. I love dancing, but more importantly, I’ve had a career that’s gone up and down. This has been the highest moment of my career, but not just for me.

“My family are the happiest they’ve ever been, my friends are joyful. My little baby girl is at home doing Men In Black hands.” He proceeded to do the moves for his Men In Black street dance routine at the start of the series.

And the comic continued: “This African boy, I wanted my culture to shine. Everything I stand on when it comes to my comedy, when it comes to my presenting, is based on my culture. It’s based on my upbringing, and I wanted that to shine most importantly.”

He proceeded to gush over Karen, saying: “This wonderful queen. This wonderful woman from Venezuela has showed my so much love.” The pair then shared a sweet hug as the studio erupted in cheers.

Karen said: “You are a treasure, I’m going to miss you [to Eddie] – well I’ll see you tomorrow! We’re going to take up Congolese dancing. I just want to thank you so much for being so positive and bringing such light and smiling, just a beauty to all of us, I want to thank you so much.”

Eddie and Karen had only managed to score 24 points out of 40 with their Samba to Calm Down by Rema and Selena Gomez. However, it’s fair to say the pair danced their hearts out during the results show
