Emmerdale fans were left fuming as they realised Samson Dingle’s character had changed completely.
Viewers were forced to watch Samson argue with Noah Dingle after he neglected his newborn child Esther as she loudly cried in the middle of a cafe.
Noah stepped in and slammed Samson’s parenting skills, but Samson rebuffed him, saying that prison had “made him soft.” Noah then strolled Esther away and threatened Samson to “stop him.”

Online, fans appeared to be just as mad as Noah was at Samson’s new uncaring personality.
“I want my adorable, sensible Samson back. Why did they do this to his character? # emmerdale,” one fan wondered.

A second chimed in, saying: “And the award for worst person to look after a baby in the village must go to Samson, all ok until baby needs anything or nappy change!!”
A third put: “Even Noah’s a better father figure to Esther than you are Samson!! #Emmerdale”
Others believed the producers had swapped their personalities, be it on purpose or by accident.
One said: “Yes Noah – Samson has changed – into you before you changed – into him #Emmerdale
Samson used to be a nice character, now he’s a total twat,” a second put, while a third wrote: “Samson to Noah, ‘What happened to you? You’ve changed,’ Noah: ‘Scriptwriter swapped our personalities.'”
Despite fans theorising over their different personalities, viewers know that Samson is pretending to be interesting in his baby Ester with Amelia, simply because there could be some cash involved.
With his blackmailing scheme, Samson knows he could get cash out of Noah in exchange for promising to stay away.
In episodes to come, a serious accident involving baby Esther sees Samson’s plan exposed to Charity, who questions Noah and finds out all of his interience money has been squandered by his ‘debts’ to Samson.
