Emmerdale Maya star looks completely different four years after dramatic exit

Emmerdale’s Louisa Clein looks completely different four years after she was last seen on the ITV soap.

The actress, 44, is best known for playing Maya Stepney who groomed teenager Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) while in a relationship with his father, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden).

The predatory teacher was eventually found out and sent to prison for her crimes, but not before she fell pregnant.

Following her early release from jail in 2019, Maya returned to the village and left her infant son, Theo, on David’s doorstep on Christmas Day.

Nearly four years after her exit, Louisa has continued acting but instead taken to the stage in several theatre productions across the UK.

Earlier this year, the former soap star starred in A Murder Has Been Arranged at Theatre Royal Windsor alongside Emmerdale icon Deena Hope, who portrayed Viv Hope for almost two decades before the character was killed off in an explosion in 2011.

Sharing behind the scenes snap on Instagram from the play, the actress looked worlds away from the character she played for 18 months.

Wearing regal clothing, the mum-of-three couldn’t have been further from the Dales while she also ditched her trademark blonde locks in favour of dark head of hair.

In 2022, the TV star appeared Jews in their Own Words at the Royal Court Theatre.

Dan pleaded guilty in court

Fans can expect huge scenes next week on Emmerdale as a triple exit looms.

After Dan pleaded guilty to attacking Lloyd, viewers suspect he will go on the run with Amelia and baby Esther now that he is facing a murder charge.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: “I bet now Amelia and Dan will plan to run away,” as another shared: “Dan gonna go on the run with Amelia”.

While a third added: “It would not surprise me if Dan goes on the run #Emmerdale”.
