Emmerdale Nicky's 'dirty secret' exposed as fans spot suspicious 'smirking' clue

Emmerdale fans have spotted something rather suspicious about new nanny Nicky after catching him “smirking” on various occasions.

The new ‘manny’ has moved into Home Farm to look after Clemmie, Lucas and Thomas, after wowing Dawn and Gabby at his interview. He said he grew up with siblings and is used to dealing with troubled kids – making him perfect for the role.

But now eagle-eyed fans think he’s simply too good to be true, and are sure he could have some connection to Kyle Winchester’s murder of Al Chapman.

Taking to Twitter with their theories, one fan pointed out: “Why was Nicky smirking at the Nicola/Kyle incident in the cafe? Does he know something?”

Another followed up: “There’s something shifty about Nicky, have caught him smirking a few times.”

“I still find Nicky shifty!” a third echoed, as a fourth viewer penned: “There is definitely something shifty about Nicky! He seems too good to be true.”

It comes as some fans have speculated that Nicky could be connected to Dawn’s ex Alex, who is dad to both Lucas and Clemmie.

Twitter users turned out in force to suggest the link, with one penning: “Gonna take a guess that the nanny is related to Lucas’s father #emmerdale.”

“#Emmerdale Maybe Gabby’s new love interest is working for Alex?” someone else pondered.

A third theorised: “That Nicky is definitely related to Alex isn’t he? #Emmerdale”.

If true, Nicky – played by Lewis Cope – could be up to no good after Alex agreed to relinquish custody of the kids to Dawn and Billy.

He’s attempted to thwart their happy family life on numerous occasions, mostly in an attempt to swindle money from his ex.

Lewis teased to Daily Star and other press about his character: “At the moment he’s a lovely person, and there’s nothing to say.

“He kind of fits the bill. He is almost too good to be true though, but we’ll have to wait and see.

“Nicky’s a great character. He’s very relatable, likeable, and I’m just having fun with him.”
