Ex-Emmerdale star Charley Webb closes down 'dream business' two years after soap exit

Former Emmerdale actress Charley Webb has revealed she has been forced to close down her “dream business” just two years after leaving the ITV soap.

The 34-year old, who starred as Debbie Dingle for almost two decades announced the shock news on Wednesday (February 1), citing her busy schedule as the reason behind her decision.

Charley said she can no longer run the Scandinavian-inspired handcrafted toy online retail business in “the way she’s fit”.

“I love everything Scandi so this has been a dream.”

And following the news up on the project’s own account, she added: “We’re Closing. We’ve loved this journey so much but we just don’t have the time to run it the way we want. There’s a 40% closing down sale. Thank you for your support, it’s been the most amazing journey with you all.”

Fans were quick to show their disappointment, meanwhile, as one commented: “So sorry to hear your closing this business. You have some wonderful toys in this site. I’ve ordered before from you and have just ordered some other bits. Thank you.”

Another wrote: “Some gorgeous resources for them very important early years. So sorry you are closing.”

And a third added: “That’s a pity. I’ve bought some lovely bits since you started.”

Charley walked away from Emmerdale for good following the birth of her third child, Ace, whom she shares with husband and former co-star Matthew Wolfenden.

Discussing her departure last year, she said: “This is always my most asked question but I’ve never answered it before because I’ve never wanted to make a big deal of it.

“I left to have Ace two years ago. I went back at the end of last year for 10 weeks to complete a storyline. So, I guess officially it’s been a year. I never felt the need to announce it which is why we didn’t.”
