GMB’s Ed Balls fumes ‘my god’ as he shuts down Ranvir Singh in King’s coronation debate

Good Morning Britain star Ed Balls brutally shut down his co-star Ranvir Singh as they discussed the King’s new signature dish to mark his coronation.

The host, 56, joined forces with Susanna Reid on Tuesday (April 18) as they presented viewers with the top headlines of the day.

This included the news that King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort, have chosen a recipe for ‘Coronation Quiche’ to mark their upcoming coronation.

While sharing their thoughts on the new recipe, Ed suggested someone could substitute the spinach for samphire which could make a different variation of the quiche.

Glaring at her co-star, Ranvir said: “I don’t think the King has condoned that, Ed.”

“I’m just saying, the King would like there to be a range of options,” Ed explained.

Not wanting to agree, Ranvir simply stated: “I’m going to go with the traditional King’s quiche.”

“The traditional King’s quiche?,” Ed laughed. “It’s only been with us for about two days!”

The presenter explained that she has never eaten coronation chicken because she is vegetarian, adding: “This is my only chance to eat anything stamped by the king.”

Ed couldn’t believe what he was hearing as he responded: “The traditional Coronation Quiche, my god.”

This comes after Tipping Point presenter Ben Shephard took a savage swipe at the Lorraine stand-in as they marked her 10th anniversary on the breakfast programme.

To celebrating Ranvir’s impressive milestone, the 45-year-old appeared on the cover of the latest edition of Women’s Health magazine.

As she recalled several sweet moments with the rest of the GMB team during an interview with the publication, the mum-of-one struggled to think of anything nice with her co-host Ben.

Ranvir explained: “The only thing that came to mind was when he outed me on TV for wearing slippers when I was reading the news.

“That was the only happy memory I could think of, Ben. Can you remember that?” she asked.

Ben replied: “I can remember that. I can also remember the time when you didn’t wake up and you turned up half an hour late for the show.

“Now that wasn’t necessary, was it? Do you see what I mean?” as she asked for support from her colleagues.
