Gogglebox’s Mary and Giles unrecognisable in family snaps and fans ‘can’t believe it’

Gogglebox favourites Giles and Mary look unrecognisable in throwback snaps from their younger years, with TV fans shocked by the difference.

Pictures of the couple from years ago as well as a family snap of them and their two daughters were shared on the official Gogglebox Instagram page, with fans stunned by the couple’s younger selves.

In one of the moody black and white snaps, Mary can be seen posing for the camera with husband Giles posing beside her as the stare into the camera lens.

The image was confirmed to be their engagement photo from 1986 by the couple.

In another snap, the middle class couple are joined by their daughters in their childhood as they pose as a family of four.

The images were shared to the official Gogglebox Instagram page, with fans rushing to comment on how different the couple look.

One fan commented: “Stevie Nicks and Hugh grant vibes”.

Another added: “Looks like an album cover.”

A third wrote: “Mary has a look of Stevie Nicks. Gorgeous” as they added heart emojis.

In the family snap with their two children, fans commented on how good looking the family was. One fan praised: “What a lovely photo……what a good looking couple.”

Another agreed, as they added: “Such a good looking couple, then and now.”

“They are hilarious…what a stunning couple,” said a third.

One fan couldn’t get over the difference in sarcastic funnyman Giles, as they wrote: “I can’t believe that’s Giles!!”

The pictures of the Gogglebox favourites come as the couple have teased that they might be planning to move out of their famous cottage, affectionately known as ‘The Grottage’.

The potential move from the Wiltshire property comes as the pair are reportedly “tired” of countrylife after 30 years in their rural property.

In their new book Country Life, Giles explained: “Were I a shrub, I would say I have only tentatively put down roots here in Wiltshire. They are not yet thick or stubborn enough to prevent me from uprooting myself for the final chapter of my life.

“After 30 years, I am now ready to transplant myself again.”
