Inside Katie Price’s ‘hectic’ Christmas – talent show, huge meal and parenting tip

Katie Price is best known for her lush life, her numerous times having gone under the knife and her on-off relationships.

But when it comes to Christmas, the Pricey has admitted that the holiday season is particularly “hectic” for her and her family. With all of her kids usually elsewhere, model and businesswoman Katie revealed that all her children will be with her this coming festive season.

This, however, does not mean that Katie will be taking things easy, as she fully leans into the holiday spirit as she acts in panto, as well as carrying on with her podcast. This includes spending as much time helping her family have the best Christmas possible – even if it means Price herself cannot take the day off.

So, as the big day approaches, Daily Star looks at what makes up Katie Prices’ “hectic” Christmas plans.

Massive meal

Speaking to Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing on his Private Parts podcast, Katie made no secret of the fact she loves cooking. She admitted that a big Christmas meal will be a part of the day, as she herself was raised on the idea of a filling dinner.

“It’s like cooking Christmas dinner everyday in my house, because there’s loads of us – I’m always cooking lots anyway,” she revealed. “Apparently, I’m a feeder.”

Katie explained that her parents are currently staying over whilst their home is being renovated. But mum and dad have said that Katie cooks too much food, joking they are “going to bed in agony with the amount of food” that she cooks.

However, Katie hit back at her parents, saying she was raised in a similar way. “I remember when I was younger, I used go to my friend’s house after school for dinner,” she recalled. “And I used to think, ‘Ugh, is that all they’ve given me? I can’t wait to go home and have some dinner!'”

Attention ‘talent show’

Later on in the interview, Katie revealed that all of her children will be joining her for the big day on Monday. But whilst Junior, Princess, Bunny, Jett and Harvey will be happy to make up the full house, Katie admitted all five of them will be vying for her attention.

“It’s like a little talent show,” she said. “First of all, they’ll all be arguing. Junior and Princess are so polite and well-mannered.

“Then, Bunny is the little rebel who’s always trying to get the attention. And Jett’s like really sensitive, so all it’ll be is ‘Be nice to mum! Don’t talk to her like this!'”

Price added that Junior would provide the entertainment by dancing and rapping away during the day, while Princess would be the model for the occasion, showing off her presents in an attempt to get noticed. Whilst this is going on, the younger kids will be fighting amongst each other, and Harvey is left to shout for attention, which results in everyone telling Harvey to quieten down.

Top tip for parents

One thing that Katie lost her temper at when reflecting with Laing on her usual Christmas was presents. She urged people listening to the show to take an unorthodox approach to electronic presents.

Expressing her frustration, she held her head in her hands as she said: “Do you know what I hate? When you buy kids toys and that, just get the batteries. Or at least wrap them up, take them out and put the batteries in first.”

Katie went on to fume that because of the amount of fiddling with screws and the like, it creates unnecessary mess that she cannot fathom. She also lamented that she ends up needing to multitask by putting in batteries as well as doing Christmas dinner and clearing up wrapping paper.

Old-time celebrations

Continuing on in the interview, Katie revealed that she still takes on some of the old traditions she was raised on. These include watching Christmas films and leaving out a gift for Santa Claus.

For Katie’s family, getting into the Christmas spirit is key. As a result, the family all sit down in a circle and watch cheesy Christmas movies together to feel the festive cheer, though Katie did not mention any that were her favourites.

They also set out to make Christmas cookies to leave out for Father Christmas ahead of the big day. But despite her commitment to the old traditions, her kids are less enthusiastic at the rituals.

“We have to do the cookies the night before,” Katie confessed. “Even though Jett and Bunny are like, ‘I don’t believe in Father Christmas; it’s gonna be you, mum doing it.’ They don’t believe in him, but Harvey does, which is why we do it.”

Katie also admitted she secretly likes to prolong her kids’ frustrations for when it comes to gift-giving. She joked that she needs to make a tea before it begins and then added that each person needs to have an equal pile of presents before getting stuck in.
