ITV I’m A Celeb execs ‘fear more stars will quit’ as low food and bad weather rocks camp

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! TV bosses have been left fearing the worst, as an insider claims more contestants could pull out earlier than expected.

Earlier this week, the show was faced with a major blow after food critic Grace Dent decided to quit prematurely. The 50-year-old hinted to her fellow campmates that she had enough and wanted to go home before making an early exit from the ITV programme on medical grounds.

After Grace’s departure, an insider has now claimed that the mood in the camp has failed to improve as the celebs suffer terrible weather conditions and a lack of food. And following Nella Rose and Frankie Dettori’s failed Bushtucker trial- where they received no stars on Tuesday’s show (November 28)- fans at home noticed that the rations had become incredibly low.

With food becoming a concern, TV bosses fear this could lead to more early departures. A source told The Sun: “Nella and Frankie’s trial fell flat, no coins or stars.

“What’s worse backstage is it was a two-month build to create that set and it’s resulted in a s*** trial. Her going back empty handed — and this awful weather — have left a real sense of misery.”

Although things appeared bleak for the celebrity campers following Nella and Frankie’s failed trial, they thankfully didn’t go completely hungry. On Tuesday’s show, Marvin Humes, Sam Thompson and Tony Bellow returned from their challenge, Misery Motel with some goodies for the camp.

Although there was a temporary uplift, with the campers indulging on a small bar of chocolate, things quickly took another downward turn for Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn. After eating her small piece of chocolate, Jamie was left in tears and threatened to go home.

But this isn’t the only star that has been tempted to leave the Australian jungle as Nella also said she wanted to go too. Nella spoke candidly to Grace before she left camp.

She told her in an emotional moment: “If Jamie left yesterday I would have been right behind her… I’m leaving. I just don’t want to be the first.

“I’ve never, ever in my life started something and finished it. Ever. I always quit, or I always sign on short term or if I don’t like it I can leave.

“This is the one thing I said I’m going to try and stick it through. But I can already see myself… if I get in my head too much.”

On Tuesday’s show, all remaining celebs were up for the public vote to take part in the next Bushtucker trial scheduled to air Wednesday night. But in a quick change of events, presenters Ant and Dec announced that Nella will not be taking part for medical reasons.
