Fred Sirieix has revealed a secret emergency – and told how a medic rushed into camp and saved his I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! adventure.
ITV are keen to stress the camp has as little interaction with the outside world as possible but the First Dates star revealed the huge rainstorms in the opening two weeks of the series caused problems and he got trench foot. He revealed: “We had torrential rain for the first two weeks, it was nonstop.
“My foot got infected, I got burns everywhere my legs, I’ve had cuts, I’ve had splinters We had an incredible medic, Paul, this man is unbelievable. I had things on my feet and he gave me some stuff, a cream, this guy is unbelievable.

“It was a week and half in. I told him, we have producers we talk to in the Bush Telegraph and I told them, please go to Paul and tell him how thankful and grateful I am because this man – I love professionals who can do a job well. It is like a good plumber. It is always wet, there is always something happening. He is the man who assessed me today and I thanked him again.”

During Fred’s assessment with medic Paul, he also discovered that he had lost significant weight in the camp. Fred added: “I was 76.6 kilos when I went in, I was the fittest I have ever been, physically and psychologically – I have trained and prepared for this. The focus has balanced me out in a way I have never been before in my life.

“In the jungle, because you are on rice and beans, first I lost a lot of fat but I lost a bit of muscle as well. But the muscle quality has gone up because I was very physically active. I lost five kilos, 11lbs, I am so fit.” Fred also detailed the bizarre way he went into camp, which nothing can prepare you for.

He said: “You are blindfolded and then you walk to a location and you go inside a tent. You don’t know where you are. There is a bag with your clothes in for the jungle. You take off all your clothes, even your shorts, you take the underwear that they give you, plain black underwear, then you put the clothes on and then they take you out and you are in the jungle. Boom, you have to embrace it, it is a test of character, actually it is just life. You totally lose control. I have never experienced that in my life and it was liberating.”
