ITV issues update over future of I’m A Celebrity South Africa days after show final

ITV has reportedly issued an update over the future of I’m A Celebrity… South Africa – just days after its epic finale.

The spin-off All Stars version of the show wrapped up on Friday (May 12) and saw bikini babe Myleene Klass take home the crown.

Other telly faves like Janice Dickinson, Carol Vorderman and Jordan Banjo made a return to the show too – which was filmed last year in South Africa.

And now, just days after the 90-minute final aired which was hosted by telly faves Ant and Dec, the future of the show has been reported.

The show wrapped up on Friday night

Following strong ratings, it’s been claimed that the South African edition of the show will be back again in the future as bosses “feel that there is plenty of scope to do more.”

What’s more, viewers who are fond of a steamy shower scene are in luck too – as it’s been reported bosses are considering even more sexy shower legends.

A TV insider told The Sun: “They have more than 200 ex-campmates to choose from — there could even be certain themes such as all-male, villains, or jungle shower legends.

“It was very much commissioned as a one-off so talks about how and when it could return are only just beginning, but ITV wanted to preserve the format for the future.

“It definitely wouldn’t be a yearly occurrence, but a format to revisit periodically.”

I’m A Celeb champ Myleene was pushed to her limit in the last episode of the series with a horror eating trial – but didn’t let the challenge get to her.

In her first interview about the series, she said: “I’d never done an eating trial in my life and now I feel like I’ve done 10.

“It was so gnarly. It was probably the worst thing l’ve ever done. It was the grisliest challenge I have ever, ever put myself through.

“I would rather walk back out onto that platform which is over 1000 feet above sea level than put any of the stuff back in my mouth again, 40 spoons of fermented tofu which tasted like death. It was grim.

“I put 60 mouse tails in my mouth. They kept repeating on me.”
