Jamie Lynn Spears ‘breaks ITV I’m A Celeb protocol’ as she makes major refusal

Jamie Lynn Spears has broken a major aspect of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! protocol after refusing to take part in pre-show interviews,

Her co-stars, including former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, This Morning star Josie Gibson and X Factor star Marvin Humes all submitted to interviews ahead of the show, Jamie Lynn refused. A source told MailOnline: “While it is a choice whether camp mates take part in the interviews, they usually do – no questions asked.

“But Jamie said no, that she didn’t want to speak before she entered the show. It was very disappointing, fans of the show are so excited about what she has to say.”

The celebrities are kept in quarantine before entering the jungle, staying in different hotels dotted around the Gold Coast to keep them from meeting their campmates. Their phones are taken away and chaperones stay with them at all times.

That means no communication with the outside world, except with press interviews – which Jamie Lynn has refused to consent to. It’s led to some speculation that she could be saving the best of the goss – namely about her sister Britney Spears – for the jungle, and for the telly.

She disembarked her flight from San Francisco and refused to interact with the media, MailOnline reports. But Jamie Lynn did give a selection of quotes to ITV bosses, admitting she wants a “nice chance to show who I really am”.

She revealed: “There is literally every misconception you can have on a person about me, so I don’t take any of it seriously. But I do think going on I’m A Celebrity will be a nice way for people to see the real me.

“This is an opportunity to be myself and do something really cool and have awesome experiences in the meantime.”

She explained family was a big aspect of deciding whether or not to do the ITV show, revealing: “When they approached me, the first thing I had to do was talk it over with my family and my kids to make sure they were ok about me being gone for this amount of time. Once I got the all-clear from everybody, I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s go’.

“My oldest daughter is like, ‘OMG I can’t wait to see you do these trials and laugh at you’,” she chuckles. “But she also said: ‘I’m really proud of you for doing something for yourself’. This will be the longest I have ever been apart from my children and the furthest.

“But they are going to come over to Australia and it will be a wonderful reunion when I come out. I am sure I will have a couple of moments where I go, ‘I miss my children’.”

And when it comes to trolls, it takes a lot to hurt Jamie Lynn. She said: “I think my best quality is the fact that it takes a lot to hurt my feelings. Unless you are my children or my immediate family, nothing is going to hurt me. I can take a lot of s**t and it doesn’t get me down, so I really think it’s a good quality to have in a place where a lot of stuff is thrown at you!”
