Joe Swash up for EastEnders return but says he’s never been asked after ‘worst exit’

Joe Swash is up for returning to BBC’s EastEnders – and says they “know where is find him”.

The actor, 41, starred on the soap from 2003-2008 and played Mickey Miller on the show.

Talking exclusively to the Daily Star at the National Television Awards last week, Joe said he’d be game for a comeback.

Joe said: “They bring people back from the dead so if they really want you, then they will come and get you. They haven’t even phoned me yet though.

“It’s a busy life with the kids but if it fits in with my life then yeah.”

Speaking about other shows he’s done recently, he added: “I’ve done a few documentaries this year with the BBC, so I’m hoping to do a few more of them, we did some with social care, and I like talking about social issues, so hopefully more of that kind of stuff.”

Joe had previously claimed that he had the “worst exit ever” on EastEnders.

Instead of being killed off, he just left Walford to take on a new job as a concierge, and said he didn’t even get a “doof doof”.

Talking about his exit on I’m A Celeb South Africa, Joe said: “I had the worst outro ever! I didn’t even leave at the end of the episode.

“So usually you leave at the end of the episode and you get the ‘doof doof’.

“Mine, I went to Norwich to be a bellboy at a hotel, and mid-scene I just walked into the Vic and went, ‘Right, see you later’. They turned back to Phil, turned back to me and I’d gone.

“I was like ‘What, that’s it?’ I was there five years and not one ‘doof doof’!”

He later explained to the ITV show’s Bush Telegraph that it isn’t as easy as you think to return to the BBC soap.

Joe said: “People think I can phone up EastEnders and go, ‘I’m ready to come back now guys.’

“They have not phoned me. Let me make this clear… EastEnders have never phoned me to get me back on the show.”
