Love Island fans ‘work out’ stars appearing on spin-off show after spotting clue

Love Island fans been speculating which former Islanders will be joining the cast of the show’s upcoming spin-off programme.

The new series, set to film in Fiji, will reportedly feature contestants from the UK, US and Aussie versions of the hit dating show who will take part in team and couples’ challenges.

An insider told The Sun: “As Love Island UK is shown in the US – just like the American and Australian version are shown here on ITVX – almost all the Islanders are known to all audiences. There’s hundreds to choose from.”

They have speculated that the ex-Islanders currently in Los Angeles could be meeting with the show’s production team ahead of filming, set to begin in September.

Fans believe that series eight star Luca Bish could be signing up, less than one year after he split with Gemma Owen following a three month romance.

Series eight winner Davide Sanclimenti has also been the topic of conversation after jetting out to California, while this year’s favourite Scott van-der-Sluis is also in the States.

A third agreed: “Maybe all auditioning now and then will fly to Fiji”.

“Scott is deffo going on Love island games lol,” speculated a fourth.

Although the original idea of Love Island began in the UK, it seems that the upcoming series will initially be shown in just the United States.

The show will be produced in the US and will launch on the TV network Peacock, with no current plans yet announced for it to be broadcast in the UK.

It comes after season two and 10 star Kady McDermott revealed she turned down the opportunity to appear on the spin-off show.

Speaking to Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks on their Staying Relevant podcast, the 27-year-old said: “I got asked to do Love Island The Games in September – I’ve had enough, I’m retired for the year. I’ll leave that one.”
