Love Island star single since school but one night stands 'only have nice things to say'

One incoming Winter Love Island star has confessed he hasn’t had a relationship since he was 17 – but that his one night stands only have “nice things” to say about him.

Ron Hall, who is the first partially sighted contestant to enter the villa, said he’s been content living the “single life” in the city until now.

At 27, Ron is finally looking to “settle down” with the right girl – and hopes the ITV2 dating show can help him along the way.

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, Ron said: “My last relationship was way back in sixth form. Unfortunately – I mean I’m happy I did it – I probably lived the single life a bit.

“I didn’t go to uni and I didn’t travel; when I was 17 I headed straight to the city and started working. I wanted to focus on my career and I got tied up into the city single life – meeting girls every other week and things like that.

“For me, a sixth form relationship, you can barely count it. You’re like 17, 18 but the single life I knew was what I wanted. I wasn’t ready to open up to anyone.”

But Ron now feels like it’s time to take a chance on love.

He explained: “It’s only the last year or two I’ve been thinking about it, because I’m 27 and it would be a nice point for me to start settling down.

“I thought I’d be married at 27! Obviously that’s not going to be the case now. I might have to delay it for a few years.

“But now I’ve opened myself up and I need to let myself… it sounds a bit cringe, but be vulnerable to those situations and start caring a bit more. That’s probably why this is a good opportunity for me to do that.”

And as for the girls he’s loved and left, Ron says they’ll only have nice things to say.

He explained: “Touch wood, I’m a really respectful person when it comes down to women. Anyone I’ve dated or had one night stands with, even just chatted to, I’m very up front and open about the situation. I try not to lead too many girls on.

“I’m very open from the get go which is probably quite a rare thing that girls don’t really experience. They sometimes don’t believe it to begin with.

“If I do get with a girl or start seeing someone or even sleeping with someone, I like to think I pick the nice girls because that’s what I’m into. I stay away from the ones who are a little bit toxic or have a bit of psycho in them.

“So hopefully they’ll have all nice things to say if they do say anything. But the girls I normally see, I don’t think would say anything. If they did I wouldn’t mind because I think they’d say nice things, if anything.”
