Love Island’s Ruchee Gurung makes surprising confession as she’s dumped from villa

Beautician Ruchee Gurung has become the latest contestant to be dumped from Love Island but surprisingly, the star admits her fellow islanders were right to eliminate her.

Things took a dramatic turn on Wednesday night’s show (June 14) when the islanders had to decide to keep either Ruchee or Ella Thomas after they both were left in vulnerable positions following the latest recoupling.

Deliberating on who they thought had more potential of finding love in the villa, the islanders decided to give Ella another chance.

But in her first-ever interview after her brutal exit, Ruchee confessed that she would have voted herself off too and she knew it was her time to go.

Ruchee, 24, said: “I would have probably even nominated myself to go. I wasn’t really surprised.

“I had a feeling that Ella would be saved because she has a connection in there.

She continued: “I’m so happy that they chose her. I would want her to continue her journey.

I thought that I would be disappointed, but I’m not because I tried my best and I was myself. It didn’t work out for me and that’s completely fine.”

Sharing her thoughts on Ella, Ruchee expressed that she hopes she will find love with football hunk Tyrique Hyde in the villa.

She said: “I’m rooting for them. They’re so cute together. They’re like naughty school kids that like each other and flirt with each other.

“The public put them together and I feel like they’re a good match. We’ve seen them both blossom and get really comfortable with each other.”

Although Ruchee lasted only nine days on the hit love-matching programme, she insists she has no regrets over her time in the villa.

She said: “I don’t think I would have done anything differently. No regrets, honestly. I enjoyed my time in there and it was a great experience.

“It was short, but it was sweet. I feel like I’ve made friends for life. I didn’t find love but I found friendship. I’ve learned to let my guard down and let people in.”

Although Ruchee was unlucky in love on this occasion, she did spark a connection with fellow islander Andre Furtado.

However, Andre still had the hots for his original partner Catherine Agbaje and is currently pursuing things with her.
