Marilyn Manson sex allegations to be explored in new doc as he continues to deny claims

Marilyn Manson and the sex allegations made against him will be the subject of a new Channel 4 documentary, it has been reported.

The channel made a splash in September with its investigation into comedian Russell Brand. And it seems a look at the US shock rocker is next on the agenda.

Marilyn’s former girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood made claims of abuse against him two years ago, and several other women later came forwards. However, the singer has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

According to The Sun, a three-part show – made by production company Lightbox – is now in the pipeline. The programme will be called Marilyn Manson: Behind The Mask.

The company’s Susan Lavery was quoted as saying: “This tells the definitive story of the controversy surrounding the star, charting his career from its early days through to his being dropped by his manager, agent and record label as a result of the allegations made against him.

“In first-hand testimony, we hear intimate accounts from his accusers, as well as those who robustly refute their allegations.”

Claims against the singer emerged in 2021, when Westworld star Evan – who dated Marilyn from 2007 to 2010 – said that he had “horrifically abused” her. However, he denied the allegations, writing on Instagram that the claims were “horrible distortions of reality”.

Other women then came forward with allegations of assault against the singer, including rape. However, he has continued to deny the claims. And last year Marilyn filed a defamation suit against Evan, saying that what she was saying about him was a “malicious falsehood”.

Some lawsuits against the rocker have since been settled or dismissed and one person recanted their claims. Marilyn – whose legal name is Brian Warner – has continued to deny allegations against him.

He said in an Instagram statement previously: “Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality. My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misinterpret the past, that is the truth.”

Daily Star has approached Channel 4 for comment.
