Meghan Markle warned 2024 ‘isn’t the year’ for tell-all book ahead of rumoured memoir

A PR expert has boldly stated that Meghan Markle “has lots to say,” but cautioned that 2024 might not be the ideal time for her to unleash her tell-all memoir.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, has been the subject of rampant speculation regarding the possibility of her penning a memoir, especially since her husband’s book, Spare, hit the shelves in January. The Sussexes are currently committed to a lucrative four-book deal with Penguin Random House, so two more books are expected to be released.

Meghan’s literary journey began with The Bench, released in June 2021. The dynamic duo is even rumoured to be working on a third “wellness” book together.

The fourth, if rumours hold true, would be none other than Meghan’s memoir. Speaking to The Mirror, Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR provided an insider’s perspective on the swirling memoir rumours.

Lynn acknowledged the persistent speculation surrounding the controversial Duchesses’ literary endeavors and stated: “I am sure that is still the plan and it will form part of their deal with Penguin, but timing is everything and 2024 wouldn’t be the right time for its release.” Lynn also hinted at a possible saturation point in the public’s appetite for all things Sussex-related.

“There are many things Meghan will want to say and put her side across about,” Lynn affirmed, continuing: “She’ll want [to] talk [about] her marriage to Harry, her relationship with King Charles and Camilla, Kate and William. I’m sure fans would like her to talk about her relationship with her father Thomas, but she isn’t that forthcoming about that side of her life.”

The PR expert also pointed out the lingering effects of Prince Harry’s best-selling memoir and the controversy sparked by the release of Omid Scobie’s Endgame at the end of the year

The PR expert also pointed out the lingering effects of Prince Harry’s best-selling memoir and the controversy sparked by the release of Omid Scobie’s Endgame at the end of the year. “However, many are still reeling from and discussing the contents of Harry’s memoir. Then the couple faced backlash again at the end of the year with the release of Omid Scobie’s ‘Endgame’ with its revelations stirring up old debates.”

Lynn concluded: “If Meghan is sensible, she will be looking for a quieter time in 2024; it’s time for her [to] take [a] step back from her association with the Royal Family and give that rift time to heal quietly. She can then quietly concentrate on her Philanthropy work. There will be a time in the future when an autobiography will be relevant, but not now.”
