Michael Fassbender’s new film caused major shortage of ‘super sleek’ naughty item

Michael Fassbender’s latest Hollywood blockbuster used up so much of a certain naughty product that it caused a shortage.

The veteran actor is starring in Netflix’s The Killer, which follows an assassin battling his employers on an international manhunt after a near-miss. Fans are loving the plot so much they’re calling for the flick – and Fassbender – to win an Oscar.

But promoting the film took a bizarre turn when he admitted they’d used up a supply of “fisting gloves” to film certain scenes. Chatting on the Graham Norton Show, he admitted: “We tried different gloves, we had leather gloves made but [director] David [Fincher] wanted gloves that were super sleek.”

He admitted the gloves used in the end were made specially for “fisting” – yes, that rather X-rated activity – which left the studio audience in hysterics. Host Norton chimed in: “You heard him!”

While Michael went on to cause mass hysteria by adding: “We went through quite a few of them actually because I spoke to the prop guy and he said, ‘There are no more fisting gloves left’. We bought all the fisting gloves out of this company.”

He added: “So the West Coast of America is without fisting gloves for a while.” Graham chimed in about a “fisting glove shortage”.

Graham also joked: “I like that they made them in pairs!” while Fassbender joked: “Well, you’ve made one, you might as well make the other. You never know which hand you want to…”

Fassbender finished off the X-rated conversation by explaining: “Once you wear them once, they’re kind of done…”

It’s far from the most naughty confession Fassbender has ever made. While filming The Counselor with Penélope Cruz in 2013, he admitted sex scenes are merely “awkward”.

He explained to Metro: “[Director] Javier [Bardem] was in the next room with the headphones. No, they’re both professionals at the top of their game and they’re really great people. Javier did joke around when we were doing rehearsals. He came back into the room and was like: ‘I forgot something.’

“But those scenes are always awkward unless you’re both really into each other. The thing is to always make sure your partner in the scene is comfortable and doesn’t feel like you’re taking advantage of the space and the situation.”

Fassbender’s Shame co-star Calamity Chang said in 2011 he was the “perfect gentleman” when filming their threesome scenes. She wrote on her blog: “At least, our scenes with Michael were totally intense! I’ll just say that whoever he is dating (I heard its Zoe Kravitz), is most definitely not disappointed with his… er, manliness.

“I felt embarrassed and was telling Michael about how mortifying it was and he shared an anecdote about his first time acting on a real film set. He said he wanted the floor to open up and swallow him whole. I thought that was really nice of him to tell me that to make me feel better even if he was making it up. He’s very down to earth.”
