‘Most famous band groupie’ had plaster casts of 50 rock star penises in wild collection

The number one band groupie in the world collected 50 plaster casts of rockers’ penises – and became known for her raunchy artwork.

Cynthia ‘Plaster Caster’, real name Cynthia Dorothy Albritton, gained fame for her bizarre collection of fake genitals based on various rock musicians’ sausages.

She began her strange career in 1968 and found her first celebrity client in guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Later, Cynthia would cast everyone from Frank Zappa to The Who’s road manager Bob Pridden.

Other men she casted included Led Zeppelin’s tour manager Richard Cole, The Kinks drummer Bob Henrit and Beach Boys star Ricky Fataar.

Cynthia used a substance called alginate to craft her moulds, but in 1993 was forced to appear in court to retrieve a total of 22 casts from Zappa’s legal partner Herb Cohen.

The artist even had two songs written in her honour – Kiss hit Plaster Caster and Jim Croce’s Five Short Minutes. She also gets a mention on the Momus track The Penis Song.

But it wasn’t always easy to get the penises returned correctly. When casting MC5’s Wayne Kramer, the mould didn’t set properly.

She explained to The Chicago Reader in 2002: “He got the container that wasn’t designed to mix alginates in. And if you mix it the wrong way it sets prematurely. It set before he could push his d**k all the way into the mould – only the head got in!”

Cynthia also began plaster casting the boobs of female artists, including LZ singer Suzi Gardner and Peaches – as well as crafting a cast of her own breasts.

Sadly, Cynthia passed away at the age of 74 in April 2022 of cerebrovascular disease. Since her death, many of her art has been donated to the Kinsey Institute, as well as the Icelandic Phallological Museum.

In an interview with In Music We Trust, Cynthia confessed: “I don’t think there’s anything strange or dark about desiring men that are talented, good lookin’, frequently witty and fun to be with on a casual basis. Nothin’ slutty there, I think.

“They’re going to be sold as art. I’m not going to do dildos or anything like that.”
