Nigel Harman held back tears as he addressed the fact that he’s had to leave Strictly.
The actor was wowing the judges and viewers on the BBC ballroom show but had to leave the competition with the grand final in sight after hurting his ribs. Appearing on spin-off show It Takes Two, he said he was “moved” after watching clips of his highlights from the series.
The star admitted it felt odd to have said goodbye to the dancefloor – and not quite real. “It was very strange waking up this morning and not dancing with you,” he said to dancer Katya Jones, who was his pro partner in the competition.

“I didn’t know what to do,” he said. The actor said he was “still in quite a bit of pain” and said that he’d been “moping” at home a bit since leaving Strictly, and wondering what Katya was up to now that they weren’t putting in the hours at the dance studio all week.
“It feels quite strange and surreal,” he told the show’s host Fleur East. “I am missing people already but I don’t feel like I have left yet,” he went on. Nigel added that he feels as if he’s “still in it” at this point.
As Katya talked about their Strictly journey and said he had brought “magic” to their choreography, Nigel started to look emotional. And he welled up as Fleur introduced a string of clips documenting his time in the ballroom.

Dabbing at his eyes, he said: “It feels like a fairytale. It feels like a dream. There’s a lot of dances there that I’m quite proud of and that I think we did really well.” “I’m really very moved by it all,” he said.
Nigel explained how he was injured when he made an appearance on Strictly at the weekend. “I was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some very handsome men, and as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed I was in A & E,” he said.

“So I’ve done something to my rib basically, and it’s quite painful.”
