Paris Hilton’s sex tape leak ‘ended her world’ and left star ‘traumatised’

Paris Hilton has opened up about her sex tape leak in the early 2000s and clapped back at the world for their reaction.

On the Call Her Daddy podcast, Paris said: “That was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I was with my sister Nicky, we were in Australia and I got a call from someone on my team. They told me that an entertainment show had received a 30 second clip and I did not believe it.”

Paris said that she thought the claim “had to be fake” and she “didn’t even remember filming” the sex tape. Hilton was sent the clip and left horrified at what she saw.

She continued: “My whole world was ending, I started crying. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t even want to fly back home to LA because I knew as soon as I landed there would be so many paparazzi and reporters waiting.”

Paris Hilton opened up about the leak

Paris “changed her flight and stayed in Australia with her sister” as she contemplated what to do. Her team wanted the heiress to “fly back to L.A. because The Simple Life was about to come out” and she was due to make a press tour.

The starlet “cancelled everything” and when she got home, Paris didn’t want to leave her house and was left “depressed and humiliated”. Heartbreakingly, Paris said that she felt like she had “let down her family”.

Hilton said that she put “shame on herself”

Paris explained: “I put so much shame on myself. Now, being an adult and looking back, I just realise that shame should not have been on me. I was a teenage girl, someone who I loved and was with – in a relationship – and who I trusted. This was pre-internet, pre-social media. He promised me no-one would ever see it.”

Hilton explained that it was “one of the most traumatic things she had ever experienced” and today, “that would have been illegal”. She also recalled that people were “so vicious and so mean” to her about the sex tape leak.

Paris was just a teenager at the time

Paris said that the “whole world was watching and laughing” while “every late night host was making jokes”. Hilton then said that the “one night with someone who she loved and trusted” will “haunt her for the rest of her life”.
