Phillip Schofield recalls ‘lovely’ final encounter with Dr Ranj before he ‘stabbed’ him

Phillip Schofield has revealed what happened when he last saw Dr Ranj Singh before the ex-colleague “stabbed” him in a brutal outburst.

The former TV star, 61, left This Morning and eventually ITV after admitting to having an affair with a much younger runner on the show.

This departure led to several ex-colleagues criticizing the show as “toxic.”

One of the stars who publicly condemned the culture on set was Dr Ranj, who regularly appeared on This Morning in a medical segment.

He claimed to have “raised concerns” about Schofield and show producer Martin Frizell and noticed a decline in his appearances as a guest.

In an interview with The Sun, Schofield accused Dr Ranj of betraying him after their “lovely” final meeting.

Schofield stated: “There is categorically no toxicity [at This Morning], and the only people who create that are the people who have their own toxicity.

“And I’m assuming if you are that sort of a person, then it follows you around, perhaps.”

He continued: “But Ranj, I saw him a few months ago, and he was lovely, really lovely.

“I don’t know why he would do that. I don’t know what is the reason to stab something that’s been really good to you.”

He went on to add that he has no say in who comes on the show as a guest.

Daily Star has reached out to Dr Ranj for a comment.

The doctor previously expressed his thoughts last week, saying: “I was on the show for ten years, and I genuinely loved and valued working there.

“However, over time I grew increasingly worried about how things were behind the scenes and how people, including myself, were being treated.”

He claimed he “didn’t know the truth about what was going on with Phillip” but claimed the issues with This Morning go far beyond Phillip alone.

“It takes more than one person to create a culture,” he blasted.

He further stated that he did what “thought was right” when he raised his concerns, given that his job is to look after people’s well-being.

“I had been heavily involved in diversity, anti-bullying, and mental health projects across the channel. I then found myself being used less and less,” he added.
