Rihanna slammed for 'lip-syncing' at Super Bowl 2023 as fans say 'shouldn't be allowed'

Pop icon Rihanna, 34, took to the stage for a Super Bowl half time performance for her first live show in five years.

However, eagle-eyed fans think they noticed something about her singing.

People flocked to Twitter and were convinced that the music star was lip syncing to her classic hits, which caused quite the stir on social media.

One person wrote: “Rihanna is so fine but she was lip syncing most of the show LMAO.”

Another commented: “That’s a great understated performance by Rihanna, although it was clear it was lip syncing.”

While a third penned: “One of the worst lip syncing performances in #SuperBowl history? Yikes Rihanna lol.”

A fourth penned: “Poor Rihanna, her career is ruined. Lip syncing at the Superbowl should not be allowed. “

However, others came to her defence and were blown away by the performance.

One person wrote: “My girl Rihanna doing her thangggggg.”

Another penned: “I love Rihanna.”

While a third added: “She ate that performance up.”

while another commented: “Rihanna did her thing. She was stylish as f*** and played some of her best hits.”

It comes after the Umbrella singer took to the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where she sang a medley of her best hits.

Rihanna started off the show suspended on a platform high above the field as she belted out her single B**** Better Have My Money.

The monumental show is also her first performance since giving birth to her first child in May of 2022.

She shares her son – whose name has not been publically share – with her partner of three years, the rapper A$AP Rocky.

Earlier in the week, talking about motherhood, she confessed: “When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens. You feel like you can take on the world, you can do anything.

“So as scary as that was because I haven’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all.
