Rylan Clark and fellow BBC presenter say they’re not at centre of sex pics scandal

BBC Radio 2 broadcasters Rylan Clark and Jeremy Vine have both taken to social media to deny being involved in the latest scandal at the broadcaster.

A presenter from the BBC has allegedly been paying a teenager who was 17 at the time £35,000 for sexual snaps.

According to the youngster’s mum, they used the money to fuel a crack cocaine habit.

The mother says she made the shocking allegations in May to the broadcaster but has told The Sun she feels “sick” to see the star is still on screen.

After people took to Twitter to suggest it was him, Jeremy Vine defended himself against the claims.

Jeremy tweeted: “Just to say I’m very much looking forward to hosting my radio show on Monday — whoever the “BBC Presenter” in the news is, I have the same message for you as Rylan did earlier: it certainly ain’t me.”

Fans took to the thread to add their comments, with one writing: “Everyone on the BBC pleading their innocence today.”

While a third penned: “I find both Jeremy Vine and Rylan mildly irritating and I switch channels when they appear (ok, if they met me, they might find me mildly – or very – irritating, too). However, there’s no way either of them deserves to be a target of such speculation. There are some twots about.”

“Couldn’t for a second imagine why anyone would have thought it was you, or @Rylan. These rumours destroy lives… remember John Lesley anyone. Disgraceful. Speculation should stop,” a fourth posted.

X Factor star Rylan Clark says he had also been at the centre of the claims after online speculation and took to the social media platform to deny the allegations.

Rylan wrote: “Not sure why my names floating about but re that story in the sun- that ain’t me babe. I’m Currently filming a show in Italy for the bbc, so take my name out ya mouth.”

HIs fans supported him in the comments, with one typing: “You have always come across as 100% genuine. Don’t worry about it.”

A second put: “Ignore them. This kind of reporting isn’t fair on the majority of decent presenters. Keep doing you Rylan.”

Others added “I’ve heard who it actually is and I am Shooketh” and “You take care of yourself, always had so much love for you and your openness with your struggles and triumphs.”
