10 acts made it through to the grand finale through the five live semi-final shows.

However, as usuals, Simon and co got to pick an extra act to join the line-up in a bid to be crowned winner and take home the £250,000 cash prize as well as a spot in the Royal Variety Show.

After the Geordie duo revealed Tonikaku was the wildcard, Ant asked Simon if he was “wearing pants” – a nod to the dance act’s catchphrase.

A flustered Simon was slow to answer before admitting that he “don’t remember”.

As soon as the wild card was revealed to be Tonikaku fans were not too impressed and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

“Oh for f***s sake all the talented people on this show and they used the wildcard to put through the I’m wearing pants guy. THIS IS WHY THIS COUNTRY IS A JOKE,” raged one person.

Another fumed: “What a stupid wildcard. Most were lots better in third place in the previous 4 semis.”

“That wildcard? What the actual f**k. So many good acts they could’ve picked. Then putting a rubbish one through is proving the show is obviously fixed,” said another.

“Not a chance have they put him in as the wild card!! Got a good mind to turn it off! Pathetic decision!!” said a fourth viewer.
