Strictly Come Dancing professional leaves BBC show with judges set to return

Strictly Come Dancing professional Cameron Lombard has quit the beloved BBC dancing programme.

The corporation announced which stars would be returning to the airwaves when the popular celebrity dancing competition airs its 21st series.

All four judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas will be returning to the show, alongside hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

However one personality from the hit primetime show will not be returning to the studio dance floor after failing to bag a partner.

After two years dancing in the professional routines, ballroom and Latin champion Cameron Lombard will be departing the show.

Commenting on his exit, a BBC spokesperson said: “Cameron is a fantastic performer and we have loved working with him for the past two years on Strictly.

“He is currently pursuing other opportunities but will always be part of the family and our door will always be open to him in the future.”

The professionals who are confirmed to be returning to the show include: Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Giovanni Pernice.

Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vita Coppola will also take to the floor once again.

This comes after it was revealed that despite speculation over her future, Shirley Ballas will be taking to the screens as head judge of the panel.

All the presenters, judges and professional dancers were confirmed for the 21st series of the long-running BBC Show.

Rumours had been circulating that Shirley wouldn’t return to the judging panel after she hinted in an interview that she had quit the show.

“Last year I was struggling. It wasn’t just a little bit, it was a lot – the majority of it was in silence,” she told the Mirror.

But she put the rumours to bed on The Jonathan Ross show, saying: “Well… I do believe it’s in the process. Is that the right way to say it? Yes.. their people are talking to my people.”
