The singing sensation rose to fame on the hit ITV show in 2009, singing the same song she performed tonight: I Dreamed A Dream.

“OMG I LITERALLY SAID TO MY MUM AS IT STARTED THAT THEY NEED TO BRING OUT SUSAN BOYLE!!!” One person proclaimed on Twitter

A second added: “Oh my goodness… Susan Boyle. I was not expecting that.”

“Omg Susan looks fabulous,” gushed a third viewer.

Echoing their thoughts, someone else said: “Aww! Susan Boyle is an absolute superstar in every sense of the word, so humble. It’s so good to see her back with her microphone!”

After her performance, she opened up to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Connelly about her health – revealing she suffered a minor stroke.

When asked how it feels to be back on the BGT stage, 14 years later, the 62-year-old replied: “It feels great,” as the audience gave her a loud cheer.

She went on: “It’s extra special for me actually. Last April, I suffered a minor stroke and I thought it’d be crazy to be back on stage and I have done it.”

Simon then went on to praise the singing sensation and revealed he had known about her secret health struggles.

He said: “Susan, we owe you so much, I knew you weren’t well but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back. It wouldn’t be the same without you.”
