The Chase's Bradley Walsh sparks 'cheating' rumours as clever contestant blows fans away

The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh was forced to ask a player whether they were “cheating” after they achieved an impressive £10,000 in the cash builder round.

Pete came on the ITV show with confidence and excellent quizzing knowledge to match.

But Bradley and fans at home were evidently blown away by the player as he answered every question correctly during the cash builder round – something that rarely happens on the popular evening programme.

Heading over to Twitter, shocked fans shared their thoughts on Pete’s incredible victory.

One social media user penned: “Blimey, think a £10,000 cash builder highest I’ve ever seen.”

Another surprised viewer wrote: “What a cash builder that was.”

And a third echoed: “A perfect 10 from Pete, and the 4th £10k cash builder of series 15.”

But although Pete was on fire, his team sadly were not.

Following Pete’s victory, his teammates Tom and Amy were caught by Chaser Anne Hegerty and were quickly sent home.

With Jayne the only person left to face the chaser, Pete wanted to ensure that he wasn’t the only player left in the final.

But viewers quickly became uncomfortable when Jayne opted not to play for her £4,000 but instead decided to go for the low offer of -£2,000.

Bradley was impressed with the player

Jumping back onto Twitter, annoyed spectators shared their thoughts.

One viewer fumed: “Pete cheated out of money there. As soon as he got £10,000 on the cash Builder, the line of questioning got very hard for everybody else & the final Chase questions for Anne was a cakewalk.”

Another said: “Pete’s waited years to get on. Smashes 10 in his cash builder, the stuff of The Chasers themselves. Only to see his soul slowly crushed.”

Jayne left viewers fuming when she went for the low offer

A third chimed: “Really felt for first contestant Pete who was a decent player with a lot of knowledge and ends up with three colleagues that are s**t.”

While a fourth added: “Absolute joke line of questioning for the Chaser. As soon as Pete showed his Potential on the cash builder they was screwed out of winning anything.”

With £8,000 now in the bank, things still looked promising for Jayne and Pete.

But unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be as Anne managed to catch the players with seconds to spare.
