The One Show viewers baffled after 'iconic' Paris Hilton makes appearance on BBC show

Paris Hilton shocked BBC viewers when she made an appearance on The One Show.

On Thursday evening (March 16), the heiress starred on the show to talk about her new projects.

Rylan Clark and Jermaine Jenas presented the segment, with Rylan gushing over one of his “iconic” idols.

Viewers stormed to social media to share their thoughts on Paris’ BBC appearance.

One wrote: “Just put the tv on and Paris Hilton is on the One Show?”

A second added: “Paris Hilton on the one show is a bit iconic if you ask me.”

While a third penned: “How much did The One Show have to fork out to get Paris Hilton and Chris Pratt on their sofa this evening?”

Paris starred on the BBC show to talk about her new book titled Paris: The Memoir.

Host Jermaine then asked Paris about her confession to playing a “character” in the showbiz sphere.

She explained why and said: “I think it was a trauma response from what I went through it was a fantasy life so I didn’t have to think about what I went through.

“Then I got the Simple Life when I had to keep playing the character after character…

“I feel like it was sort of a mask to deal with all the pressures.”

Paris was promoting her new tell-all book

Rylan then asked her what it was like living under such extreme conditions when she was younger due to being hounded by the press wherever she went.

Talking about the media pressures she faced when she was younger, Paris said: “It was really difficult, the way they were so cruel to us, it was like living under a magnifying glass with the media stalking us and making up stories.

“You definitely need tough skin in that town.”
