The Room director Tommy Wiseau releasing new film Big Shark after 'worst movie ever'

Tommy Wiseau is back behind the camera again and is about to release his new film Big Shark.

The eccentric film star self-funded, directed and played the lead role in his bizarre 2003 drama The Room, which was branded the ‘worst movie of all time’.

But two decades on from the flick, which became an unlikely cult classic, the kooky director is back to release a follow-up.

And if you didn’t already guess – it contains a very, very big shark.

Tommy, 67, told Variety magazine that the film will be rolling out in the States from April 2.

Similar to his quirky debut flick, he’ll serve as the sole writer and director of Big Shark – and of course, he’ll be the star alongside Isaiah LaBorde and Mark Valeriano.

The trailer first debuted in 2019, and fans have been left on the edge of their seats ever since.

One YouTuber commented on the official trailer: “I love the part when the big shark said it’s ‘sharkin’ time’ and eats everyone except [Tommy] and his merch.”

Another gushed: “It already begins like a Wiseau masterpiece: ‘Oh Hi!’ Ha-ha.”

Some die-hard Wiseau fans are already predicting it to be one of the greatest movies of all time.

An eagerly-awaiting fan wrote: “As a society, it is up to all of us to make this the highest grossing movie of all time!”

A fourth added: “Oscar nominations for at least visual effects and screenplay are a sure thing.”

Tommy’s secretly funded his first film The Room, which follows a successful banker and his fiancée as she seduces one of his best friends.
