Vicky Pattison, 35, ‘proud’ to freeze eggs as she’s ‘not ready to be a mum’

Vicky Pattison says she is proud of undergoing IVF so she can delay being a mum.

The reality TV star, 35, and fiancé Ercan Ramadan, 39, are freezing her eggs and embryos as neither feel ready to be parents.

But there has been a a backlash from what Vicky calls “toxic trolls”.

However in an exclusive chat with the Daily Star Sunday, the former I’m A Celeb winner said: “I know we are making the right decision.

“I have openly told everyone that I am not ready for a baby, that Ercan is not ready, that our relationship isn’t ready yet so many people say to me, ‘Just do it. Just have a baby’.

“I think, ‘Do you know how toxic that narrative is?’ We need to be kinder to women and a bit more
understanding.

“I haven’t made the decision so I can enjoy drinking for the next five years and party.

“I have worked hard on myself. I have had therapy and I want to be the best mum possible and I am proud of that.”

Vicky, who stars in BBC Two show Pilgrimage has been with Ercan for four years.

The couple got engaged last year but are delaying any wedding plans until after their IVF journey.

She added: “It’s been much harder than I realised and there has been some abuse too. But I realise how lucky I am, not only financially but also biologically to be able to do this. I count my blessings.”

Vicky says Ercan is “The One” but admits their relationship is not perfect. She said: “I love Ercan but he’s not the most emotionally available person.

“He is slightly robotic, the complete opposite of emotional me. He is from a more reserved background.

“We are very different but love each other. We are learning to build a life together.”
