A Place In The Sun chaos as star reveals ‘police were called’ forcing filming to halt

A Place In The Sun’s Jasmine Harman once recalled a rather dramatic moment on the show – that saw the cops get called in.

The TV presenter has been a regular on the Channel 4 show for 20 years – making her debut in 2004. And she’s since become a firm-favourite thanks to her impeccable property knowledge and stunning good looks.

Over the years, it’s fair to say Jasmine has had her fair share of dramatic moments on the show, attempting to help Brits buy their dream home abroad.

But one day of filming saw a ton of rather dramatic events unfold – with the police having to be brought in. Speaking in 2019, Jasmine spoke out about the “biggest challenges” she’s faced while filming A Place In The Sun.

During an interview with Express, Jasmine revealed that whenever the show films on private land they need to get permission first. She said: “Sometimes something as silly as that. Just getting the right person to give the permission can be the trickiest thing.”

Jasmine then recalled one time when somebody gave the APIT team permission to film – thinking they “had the authority” – but they didn’t. She said: “We believed we had the permission and were filming.

“Then somebody else came and said, ‘You can’t sign that form’, and called the police on us and that was pretty bad,” she said. Jasmine and the team were unable to get permission to film in the complex. As a last resort, they had to document the property from the street.

Reflecting on the experience, she added: “That was a bit of a shock for me to have the police called. They didn’t go for that property in the end. I think the house hunters were a bit put off by that.”

In other Jasmine news, she recently shared a touching tribute to her late co-star Jonnie Irwin as the show hits its 20th anniversary. The pair became telly favourites after their first episode aired on Channel 4 in February 2004, and their friendship blossomed over the years.

With Jonnie’s tragic passing from lung cancer at just 50 this past February, Jasmine faces an emotional return to the screen.
