Amanda Holden’s forgotten EastEnders role resurfaces amid Sharon Osbourne bitter feud

Amanda Holden’s forgotten role in EastEnders has been resurfaced by fans and used as ammunition against Sharon Osbourne amid their bitter feud.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 53, stunned fans when she let loose on the Celebrity Big Brother star, 71, last week. The blonde bombshell hit out at the music mogul for bad-mouthing her boss Simon Cowell, 64, with Louis Walsh, 71, on the show last month.

An enraged Sharon soon hit back online, saying: “You’ll never be in my league” after the radio host branded her “pathetic”. Amid the ongoing drama, one fan took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to support Amanda.

Referencing her first time in front of the camera on the BBC soap back in the mid 90s, they pointed out: “Yeah but Amanda Holden had a scene in EastEnders so… call it even?” It’s not the first time her appearance on the show has come to light as the Heart Breakfast Show presenter spoke about it on-air a few years prior.

Discussing the gig with her co-stars Jamie Theakston and Ashley Roberts, Amanda revealed she rubbed shoulders with the likes of Ian Beale while manning a stall in Walford. The TV personality said: “When I left drama school, EastEnders was one of the first jobs I got.

“I had to look after someone’s stall for half an hour which was like four episodes or something.” Utterly surprised, Jamie asked: “I didn’t know you were in EastEnders. There’s pictures though?”

Amanda continued: “I was opposite Adam Woodyatt [Ian Beale], your ex-flatmate. That’s not true [laughs].”

Amanda then spoke about what she did on the show, which included getting up to mischief with a lot of fruit. She said: “Ian Beale, I looked after a jewellery stall and he had his fruit and veg, there was a lot of messing around with rude fruit, that’s all I’m going to say.

“I had a lot of fun, it was a nice show to do,” she gushed. Amanda went on to appear on several other TV shows throughout her career including Wild at Heart, Kiss Me Kate and Mad About Alice.

She is now one of the four judges on Britain’s Got Talent – the only original cast member across the 14 series alongside head judge. The beloved music mogul backed his co-star Amanda during her bitter fallout with Sharon.

He sent her a message of support after the pair engaged in a huge online war of words over him and money. The rant saw Sharon ranting at “classless” Amanda over a magazine interview in which she called Ozzy’s wife “nasty and awful”.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s one of the first rules of celebrity’ you never cross Sharon Osbourne – but Amanda stands by her comments. Her phone was inundated with messages of support from loads of well-known names, all sympathising hugely.”

It has been reported that Simon sent a message via text from his fiancée Lauren Silverman. The insider revealed: “Simon doesn’t have a phone so she did it on behalf of them both. For her part, Sharon is at a stage of her career where she really doesn’t give a s**t.”

A spokesman for Amanda then claimed: “Amanda is aware of Sharon’s incredible career but, just like her, Amanda will always defend those close to her.”
