Axed CBB star Gary Goldsmith ‘regrets going on three-week bender’ before show stint

Celebrity Big Brother star Gary Goldsmith admitted that he went on a “three-week bender” before he entered the ITV house.

During Friday’s visit (March 8) to the infamous house, viewers watched the first eviction of the series. The public were asked to vote to save either Kate Middleton ’s uncle or reality star Lauren Smith after less than a week in the series.

Gary received a killer nomination from celebrity lodger Sharon Osbourne at the start of this week after he was placed in the ‘Danger Zone’ with David Potts and Zeze Mills. In his exit interview, Gary opened up about his time on the show.

He told viewers: “I’ve had the best of times. The nice thing is, I went in with one agenda and I achieved it in five days so I absolutely smashed it.

“Now, I can leave it to the professionals who do this stuff way better than I. I wanted to change what people think of my personality and who I was.”

As AJ Odudu and Will Best welcomed him on to the spin-off show Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live, he told viewers his only regret was that he went on a “three-week bender” before he went on the show.

He confessed: “My only regret was going on a three-week bender before I went in the house. I wanted to lose weight and that was a bad decision.”

Later on in the show, the TV personality revealed the last message Louis Walsh gave to him in his final moments in the iconic house. He recalled: “Louis said it to my face.

“He said, ‘It’s gonna be you. She [Lauren Simon] knows what she’s doing. She’s much better’.” It was at this point that Gary started cheering to put Louis “in the bin”.

But his scathing comments didn’t end there, when he went on to reveal which contestant is the biggest “game player” in the house. He told viewers: “Ekin-Su [Cülcüloğlu] is one of the biggest game players I’ve ever seen.

“There’s many sides to her and not many of them are nice. She’s playing a game there and she’s not very nice.” Celebrity Big Brother airs on weekdays from 9pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
