BBC Breakfast fans ecstatic as presenter returns to ‘best job in the world’

BBC Breakfast hots Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell hailed the return of a familiar face to the show on Wednesday as they introduced a segment on the price of baby formula.

After taking six months out, Nina Warhurst returned to the morning programme after giving birth to her third child in the summer. But the 43-year-old is now back from maternity leave, much to the delight of the presenters and viewers.

Discussing the rising cost in feeding little ones, Jon enthused: “We have the perfect person to investigate this for us because I’m delighted to say that back from maternity leave – it’s Nina – welcome back Nina! It’s lovely to see you.”

After welcoming baby Nancy into the world in July, Nina wrote of the struggle of becoming a new mum on Instagram: “We’ve lost all sense of time as we’ve been feeding and snoozing and gazing and toe-stroking and head-smelling and marvelling at the absolute wonder of it all. It’s been haaaard tho! A harder pregnancy. A tougher delivery and a longer recovery… maybe it’s being older… but also I’d somehow forgotten.

“I’d forgotten the anxiety of labour moving from the plan. I’d forgotten the swollen scars, bleeding breasts, mastitis fever, hormonal crashes, clots, constipation, codeine withdrawal, exhaustion.”

BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
