BGT fans fume over ‘scripted’ show as rap act performs ‘catchy’ song outside

Fans of Brtiain’s Got Talent were left rather unhappy during the latest episode as they complained the show was too “scripted”.

On Saturday’s programme (May 4) rapper Danny Platinum took to the stage and performed an upbeat freestyle. Exuding with confidence, Danny told judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli that he wanted to try something different by taking his performance off the stage and rap outside.

Danny got the crowd roaring for more when he left the famous platform and headed outside where he was greeted by a welcoming audience and a red carpet. The Huddersfield native continued his song outside and headed back on stage indoors where the judges bopped along to his routine.

Sharing their thoughts on his song which included the lyrics “BGT baby”, all four judges thought he was great. Meanwhile, Simon added that he loved the fact that he took his performance outdoors and how different it was.

But viewers at home called out the “fake” and “scripted” setup by pointing out that there was already a convenient setup outside. Heading over to X, one fan said: “Wow, another scripted act.”

Another penned: “So he wandered outside ‘of his own accord’ and they just happened to be all setup with the sound, cameras. And no apparent surprise in the crowd.”

A third also said: “‘You had this idea… Go outside….’ No, he didn’t. You did. It was in your script, Cowell. Remember?”

A fourth shared: “Handpicked Produced Setup within an inch of its life.” While another added: “Act goes outside. Amanda: ‘Nobody’s done this before!’ Meanwhile outside there’s cameras, red carpet and a crowd!”

But despite some cynical comments, othrers were loving Danny’s song which he made up on the spot. Sharing their view, one fan said: “Danny from Yorkshire, coming like he’s shooting a music video. He was alright”

Another chimed: “The tune is definitely catchy for this guy who’s a freestyle rapper.” After his perfomance, Danny sailed straight through to the final with four yesses from the judges.
