Blake Lively has confessed the secret to her and hubby Ryan Reynolds’ happy love life is down to “one rule”.
The Age of Adeline star, 36, who’s been married to Ryan, 47, for nearly 12 years, spilt the beans on her friend Amber Tamblyn’s show Further Ado. Blake revealed that when they started dating, the Hollywood power couple promised each other not to work at the same time.
This means the couple, who met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, have always been able to put their family and each other first. Blake explained: “When Ryan and I got together, we made a rule not to work at the same time so that we could always prioritise our personal life.”

But the A Simple Favour actress admitted it’s been hard to stick to the rule as it’s all about balance, reports The Mirror. Blake even revealed that when they first started dating, she was the one with the busier schedule as she was filming the hit teen drama Gossip Girl at the time.

“I’m used to working hard and going and going and going and going and not stopping. Especially, Gossip Girl was six years of my life, and we were sometimes shooting three episodes at once,” she recalled.
Blake and Ryan, who are also busy raising their four adorable children, have previously opened up about how they try to prevent their movie-making careers from impacting their family life. Back in 2019, Ryan told People magazine: “Blake and I don’t do movies at the same time.”

The Deadpool star added: “If she is doing a movie in Thailand and I am doing a movie in Vancouver we would just never see each other. We operate as a unit, and that works really well for us.
“The kids stay with us, and the family stays together, and that is where home is. So if we are in Spain or Utah or New York, as long as we are together, we’re home.”

Blake recently showed off her cool mum style with a Deadpool-themed friendship bracelet, inspired by her hubby’s famous anti-hero flick. The stylish mum-of-four was Taylor Swift’s guest at the Superbowl and said it was the first time she’d ever “left the kids”.
She took to Instagram to show off her trendy outfit. Dressed in a red Adidas x Balenciaga tracksuit paired with a crop top, the Gossip Girl star captioned her post: “Last week I left my kids for the first time ever and wore pants that were shoes.”
She jokingly revealed: “I took pictures upside down and had no clue. I treated a friendship bracelet like a Flat Stanley for my husband like I didn’t realise it was ’07.’ I borrowed more jewellery than the skeleton in the Pirates of the Caribbean. And I went clubbing. Now I know what my episode of the Twilight Zone would look like.”
