Bridgerton series three promises lesbian romps, threesomes and oral sex scenes

Bridgerton’s new season promises to be raunchier than ever.

According to reports, the next series will feature lesbian romps and even a threesome. Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley are involved in a graphic oral sex scene while Luke Newton is involved in group intercourse before watching his partners put on a sex show.

Eager fans don’t even have long to wait – the first four episodes are set to air on May 16 and after that, another four will drop on June 13.

Nicola Coughlan has spoken out about her sex scenes in the show and was gobsmacked once she’d read the saucy script. She said: “It’s steamy! I was like: ‘Oh wow…are we really doing that?’ It was so scary that [me and Luke Newton] were friends to begin with, because the thought of doing that stuff with your friend is like: ‘Oh!’ But we had a laugh with it and had fun.”

Fans are expecting more raunch than ever before

During their on-set romps, Nicola and Luke actually trashed some of the set and the red-faced actress told Entertainment Weekly that they “broke a piece of furniture”. “It’s a little bit like a stunt in which they’re like: ‘Ok, we’re gonna do this, this, and this, but then they gave us freedom and we had a lot of say in how we did those scenes and what we wanted to do. That makes you feel quite empowered.”

Nicola addressed her sex scenes on set

Nicola admitted that during the scenes, she “felt super” and they were “actually really enjoyable” to film, although she “didn’t think they would be”. Newton has also addressed the sex scenes and said that even though fans “expect that with this show,” the cast and crew have “really ramped things up”.

Fans can watch the new episodes in May and June

“It’s steamy across the board – like there’s lots of people across the ‘ton that are just at it. It’s not just us,” said Luke, as Nicola jokingly remarked that there are “bonking opportunities for all” of the characters.

Bridgerton is a historical romance series based on the books by Julia Quinn, set in the regency era among the upper class of the 1800s.
