Coronation Street viewers worried for Sam after terrifying car accident

Coronation Street fans are worried things are going to take a dark turn after Sam Blakeman was in a terrifying car crash.

Sam, who is played by child star Jude Riordan, ended up in the accident after his step-brother Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) was talked into driving him to a chess tournament. Nobody realised that Simon had been up late boozing and shouldn’t have been behind the wheel, and viewers watched in horror as he lost control and smashed into a bollard.

Although he was shaken, Sam seemed to walk away from the accident fairly unscathed. But he started to feel ropey and later in the cafe said that he couldn’t drink his milkshake because he felt sick.

His words caught the attention of fans of the ITV soap, and many are now convinced he has a concussion and that the situation is going to go from bad to worse. Some are concerned that Sam – who is the son of Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and the late Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac) – could even die if his injuries aren’t picked up and dealt with.

Several took to X to discuss what happened after the episode aired. “Sam has concussion… even though we didn’t see him bang his head,” one worried viewer posted.

Another spotted Sam rubbing his head in the background of a scene, and wrote: “Concussion incoming for the little man!” “Sam might collapse,” said someone else, as another remarked: “Perhaps Sam’s going to suffer something, apart from being left with Toyah I mean.”

“Oh dear Sam no,” said another fan. One pleaded: “Don’t kill off Sam. Simon can go but not Sam.” “Sam clearly ain’t well…” wrote another Corrie viewer.

“Poor young Sam, joins Coronation St, loses his mum in matter of weeks to crazed gunman, fights off intruders with his telescope and now the local drunk trying to kill him,” commented one viewer. “Bet he’s glad he moved in with dad.”

“Sam feeling sick, I wonder if he has a head injury after the crash?” asked another worried viewer. “Sam feeling too sick to drink Roy’s milkshake after the car accident, and seen in the background rubbing his head,” noted somebody else. “He’s had an undetected head injury, I think. Will they kill Sam off before Harvey returns to torment the street?”
