Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon brutally mum-shamed over cute Easter pic of son

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has been cruelly mum-shamed on Instagram after sharing a series of family snaps.

Lucy, known for portraying Bethany Platt on the ITV programme, celebrated Easter with Preston North End footballer Ryan Ledson and their young son, Sonny Jude. In her post Lucy could be seen looking stylish in a striped top and straight-legged jeans as she stood by Ryan’s side as he clutched onto their tot.

The soap star went all out to make her son’s second Easter special by creating baskets for him and his friends and letting him have his own chocolate egg. But despite the youngster’s delight – who was born in January 2023 – one follower jumped into the comments to slam Lucy as they deemed Sonny’s Easter egg too big for his tiny hands.

“Bit young for Easter eggs!” the Instagram user penned, before facing a backlash from some of Lucy’s other fans, reports the Irish Mirror.

“Not really all babies are different. My friend’s baby started cutting teeth when she was one month, don’t compare your child to someone else’s,” one wrote, but the social media user stood his ground, responding: “Too young for such. A future dentist’s dream!”

It prompted a debate among Lucy’s other followers, meanwhile, with more and more people chiming in about the impact of sugar on baby’s teeth. One follower stressed she had never suffered from cavities despite her love for chocolate. “I’ve eaten sugar all my life chocolate is my weakness I’ve never had a cavity and I’m 30 in August. I have a seven-month-old and she has more than one egg don’t pass out,” she shared.

Another jumped into the conversation, hitting out at Lucy’s critic, adding “bit old for Instagram judgment” before the conversation eventually fizzled out. It isn’t the first time Lucy Fallon has faced scrutiny over her parenting choices. In late 2023, the star was criticised for her choice of car seat for her son Sonny Jude.

Lucy showed off the gadget on social media as she prepped for an outing, saying: “We recently picked up our new Maxi-Cosi Pearl 360 Pro car seat for our lil Sonny and we have been loving using all the special features. The seat has SlideTechTM and 360 rotation making it super easy to get Sonny in and out of the car and will be perfect when he’s older and can face forward.”

Finally, Lucy emphasised the importance of her son’s comfort and safety during their visits to Blackpool. “I travel a lot to go and stay with my family in Blackpool so it’s so important to us to have a seat that Sonny loves and that we know he is comfortable and safe in. That’s why we love the Pearl 360 Pro seat.”

Returning a joke, an Instagram user had a laugh saying: “All fun and games using this car seat until you’re a Nana who can’t turn it round and have to ring your son-in-law to come and help you.”
