Corrie viewers ‘turn off’ over ‘most controversial storyline’ as they have ‘no words’

Coronation Street fans have been left fuming at the soap’s ‘most controversial storyline.’

This week the soap kicked off its most controversial storyline ever. During Tuesday’s episode (April 24) Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) admitted she buried a stillborn baby in the park over 20 years ago.

The baby’s father was Phil Simmonds (Jack Deam) who raped her in 2001. The assault, and its aftermath, was a storyline that played out on Coronation Street at the time.
