Corrie’s Roy ‘did actually kill Lauren’ in ‘huge twist’ as fans ‘rumble’ twisted reason why

Coronation Street fans are certain that Roy Cropper did indeed murder Lauren Bolton.

The beloved soap character, played by David Neilson, has been on the soap since 1995. And it’s fair to say he’s become a cobbles legend.

However, over in the soap at the moment, he has found himself involved in a harrowing storyline. Fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren (Cait Fitton) went missing last month – with Roy being the last known person to see her alive.

And it didn’t take long for Roy to become DS Lisa Swain’s number one suspect. Suspicions started to arise after he deep cleaned Lauren’s flat after she disappeared.

But Blood was found at her flat, and Roy’s suspicious behaviour led to him being questioned. And in a big twist, the search for Lauren became a murder inquiry and Roy was hit with trolls and speculation from online sleuths.

And in Friday’s episode (April 12), Roy is taken in again for questioning about the incident and is interrogated while solicitor Dee Dee is by his side. But as Swain dives into Roy’s chequered past, it’s evident she sees him as the man responsible.

And while plenty of soap fans have been left appalled at how the cops could even suspect Roy, others have a different theory. And some viewers are certain that he actually did murder Roy after ‘snapping’.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan mused how Roy could have ‘snapped’ after catching her going through his wallet. Lauren had previously done this so it’s not out of character.

The fan wrote: “Maybe Roy did do it tho. Maybe he came back to find Lauren rifling through his coin purse and a scuffle ensued.” Someone else added: “Part of me hopes Roy did Lauren in…give him a bit of a bad boy edge after all these years.”

A third quipped: “Plot Twist: Roy did actually kill Lauren and has been serving her to customers in his rolls, bit by bit.” Another echoed a similar dark theory and wrote: “There is going to be a massive twist in this storyline and it will be after decades of Roy being a decent person he is actually a serial killer and has been serving his victims up for years.”

A fifth follower mused: “Plot twist. Roy is actually guilty and this is his exit storyline.” While on a Reddit thread, one fan pointed out Roy’s suspicious behaviour. They penned: “He keeps referring to her in past tense and said something about who “killed” Lauren.“
