Dan Walker forced to ditch interview on Channel 5 show after racy question

Dan Walker was forced to move on with his Channel 5 news show when a tech blunder stuck at the worst possible time.

The TV star was chatting to a man named Craig Ferguson who was taking on a massive 1,000 mile walk from Glasgow to Munich to raise funds for a mental health charity. During their chat, Dan asked Craig whether he would be wearing a kilt when he was taking on the gruelling trek.

Craig replied to say that as it was “Scotland-related and Tartan Army related” he would be daft to do the walk without wearing a kilt, which sparked a conversation about he might wear underneath. Dan asked Craig what he had on as they talked via video link, and he got up and twirled around to show he had a tartan kilt on there and then.

Back in the studio, Dan quipped that he wouldn’t ask the “illegal question” about what a Scotsman has on under his kilt, teasing that it was the “wrong time of night for that”.

Dan asked a cheeky underwear question

But it seems the former BBC Breakfast presenter couldn’t resist a little probing. He then moved on to wondering about potential discomfort over the course of the long walk, if Craig didn’t have much on underneath.

“I am slightly concerned about chafing with all that walking,” said the star. “Have you got cycling shorts on underneath there at some stage?” he asked.

Craig showed off his kilt

But at that moment the screen froze and Craig went still, meaning viewers didn’t get to hear his response to the light-hearted question. “Oh!” exclaimed Dan with a chuckle.

He saw the funny side of the timing of he technical issue, laughing: “Craig has frozen at the crucial moment!”

However, the TV star made it clear that viewers wouldn’t be left hanging. “I’ll get the answer to that question,” he said with a laugh. “I’ll tell you on tomorrow’s programme.” “What a time to freeze!” he added.
