EastEnders Keanu star ‘to make it big in America’ after shock exit on BBC soap

EastEnders’ Danny Walters could be set to swap the UK for Hollywood, an expert has claimed.

The actor portrayed Keanu Taylor on the BBC soap – making his debut back in 2014, along with the rest of the Taylor clan. Since then, he played a part in several big storylines and become a firm favourite with viewers.

So much so, that he even scooped a few gongs throughout his soap stint like an NTA award for Best Newcomer. But in 2023, Keanu was killed off in a huge twist.

Fans will recall that in a dramatic Christmas Day episode, it was finally revealed that Keanu was the murder victim and Linda Carter was the killer – which was teased in a flash-forward.

Linda (Kelly Bright) stabbed Keanu after he attempted to strangle Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean). Linda, Sharon and the rest of The Six then hid Keanu’s body under Kathy’s cafe – and have been on edge ever since.

Now, an expert has claimed that Danny has left EastEnders he could be set to be the next thing in Hollywood. Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo, noted how the actor has “several paths he could pursue.”

And that could even include a stint on a rival soap or even a move to Hollywood. The expert explained: “With his performance as Keanu Taylor gathering much praise from fans and critics alike, ITV and Channel 4 bosses could be looking to snatch Danny up for a role on their soaps.

“Previously appearing on the ITV show Benidorm, it is not unlikely that we see Danny join a show produced by the TV company. Similarly, Danny previously starred in the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk in 2016, so pantomime acting is a path the actor could follow,” he added.

But Dom also went on to claim how he could be landing a role over in the States after spotting a ‘clue.’ He said; “, Danny is signed to both a British and American talent agency meaning he could try and make it big in America or try his hand at something other than soap acting.

“Whether that be a mini-series, film or soap, Danny’s departure from Eastenders may have allowed him to further his career overseas.”

Speaking about his shock EastEnders exit, Danny said he felt “deceitful” about having to keep the result of the murder storyline under wraps. He told Radio Times: “It’s been extremely difficult! I feel like I’ve been very deceitful to my friends and my family and have made many excuses. But, I wanted the storyline to have as much impact as possible for the audience. So I’ve tried my best to keep everything a secret and hopefully that’s paid off.”
