Emmerdale fans make same demand to Charity as they ‘work out’ Mack exit twist

Emmerdale fans have made the same demand to Charity Dingle.

Charity, played by Emma Atkins, has been struggling with trauma since she killed Harry (Robert Beck) in self-defence on Christmas Day. She began suffering with night terrors and even stabbed husband Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) by accident.

During Monday’s instalment (March 11) of the ITV soap, Charity had her first therapy session. She refused to take it seriously and wasn’t convinced the therapist could help her in any way.

But as she began speaking about her past, the cause of Charity’s trauma was slowly unlocked. She discussed her mother’s death by suicide, which she originally thought was from cancer after her father lied to her.

Charity then recalled being kicked out of her home after falling pregnant with Debbie (Charley Webb) and later being forced to give her up. Delving deeper into her past, Charity told the therapist about meeting Mark Bails (Rocky Marshall), a police officer who claimed he was going to help her off the streets.

He ended up raping Charity when she was a teenager which resulted in him fathering her son, Ryan. The therapist eventually diagnosed Charity with severe PTSD, most likely triggered by killing Harry.

At the end of the episode, Mackenzie arrived at the house and asked if they could spend more time together, confessing how much he loves her. Charity was hesitant and found herself having another panic attack as Mack ran her a bath.

As Charity left the house, fans raced to social media to beg her to leave Mack for good. One wrote: “I’m REALLY hoping with the help of therapy Charity decides to walk away from Mack and be brave enough to do it on her own and do it because she loves herself and her self respect is back, that would be such a positive message to women and a nice end to her marriage.”

A second agreed: “Therapy is hopefully going to give Charity the bandwidth to acknowledge that Mack is BOTH a narcissist and a psychopath. But she can’t do this yet. It’s too painful. Vanessa. She lost Vanessa because of him.”

Another fumed: “Oh I excuse you for sticking a knife in Mack – in fact I think most of the viewers excuse you for sticking a knife in Mack The one mistake you made was you didn’t stick it far enough.”

Echoing this, a fourth penned: “I hope charity comes out of this and dumps Mack’s ass.” Meanwhile someone else added: “No one wants you around Mack, f**k off.”
