Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson’s husband rushed to hospital following bizarre injury

The husband of Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson has been rushed to hospital following a bizarre injury he suffered in their kitchen.

Casey Johnson, who married 32-year-old Marnie last year, accidentally “peeled his finger with a potato peeler” which resulted in a trip to A&E. Mum-of-two Marnie later confirmed he was now doing “fine” after medics patched him up.

The reality TV star explained to her six million Instagram followers in a late night video on her story: “The reason we’ve been out is because we just left A&E. Casey cut his finger. He peeled his finger with a potato peeler but I can confirm he’s absolutely fine.”

Marnie continued: “He’s a drama queen. He actually thought that he was septic from a little cut on the finger. I know you can get septic from a cut but Casey had no symptoms and he was playing darts.” Addressing Casey she added: “I think if you were septic wouldn’t being playing darts, babe.”

In a second clip, meanwhile, Marnie joked his finger looked like ET as Casey waved it towards her. He then added: “It really hurt. It still hurts. But yeah, I’m okay.”

Casey found fame himself as one quarter of X Factor pop group Union J. The Londoners released two albums after their appearance on the show, with a follow-up in 2022 to celebrate their tenth anniversary.

Casey and Marnie met during the filming of MTV dating show Single AF in 2017. They have since gone on to have two children – Rox, three, and 21-month old Oax. Last month Marnie took aim at mum-shamers who appeared to criticise her parenting of Rox after the family appeared on a new installment of Geordie Shore.

Marnie, who has since shared that she was nervous to include her children on the show, has been targeted by vile social media users after they blasted her for being too “laid back” as a parent. To add to her worries, they also said her son was “out of control” and seemed like a “lot of work” – and her co-star Charlotte Crosby’s partner Jake made similar comments in the latest episode of the show.

Rox has been diagnosed with ADHD and the uncalled-for remarks left Marnie in turmoil. Taking to Instagram, she shared her hurt online. In a lengthy post, she wrote: “Just want to say a huge thank you for all the support I’m receiving. It’s so upsetting to see comments being made about my four-year-old son, Rox is a hyper four-year-old but aren’t most kids his age, he was just excited to be away.

“Rox’s ADHD doesn’t change how amazing, loving, funny and caring he is. He’s an innocent child and doesn’t deserve this, he was just having fun. For close friends basically saying hurtful things about him has destroyed me as a mother, I really wish I didn’t involve him and subject him to this negativity. I wouldn’t dream of saying hurtful things about children.”
