Gogglebox duo Dave and Shirley Griffiths have hailed the achievement of their rarely-seen son.
The pair have been entertaining us on Channel 4 since joining the show in 2015, but away from the screen little is known about their lives. On Sunday (April 28), however, they proudly shared a glimpse of their son Simon in action.
Simon took part in and successfully completed the Newport marathon, with Dave and Shirley cheering him on from the roadside. Using their joint Instagram account they shared two videos of their son, including one of him crossing the finish line after his 26-mile run.

Midway through his endeavours, Dave and Shirley shared a video of him running past, which they captioned: “Our son Simon running in the Newport marathon, go son he’s all in black 26miles in front of him good luck butt xxx.”

And later they returned to their account to declare their pride as Simon completed the race. “Well done son 3hrs 46mins massively proud get in there xxx,” Dave and Shirley penned.
One of the couple’s fans gushed in response: “Well done Dave and Shirl on your son great time you must be very proud.” Another added: “Fantastic Simon, very good time. Congratulations.”

A third wrote: “Well done Simon….stick your feet in a basin of hot soapy bubbles….they deserve it.” And a fourth joked: “Congratulations, I can’t drive 26 miles without having to stop to stretch my legs.”
In the most recent Gogglebox series, meanwhile, Shirley admitted she was “seriously thinking” about getting a boob job after admitting her assets had “gone south”. The 67-year-old said she was eyeing up a breast lift to pull her boobs up a bit after noticing she’d suffered from some sagging over the years.

“Thing is when you get older it all goes whichever way don’t it,” Shirley told Dave. A baffled Dave asked: “What?”
“Well your bl**dy boobs hang down,” Shirley continued. “That’s why I’m seriously thinking of having a boob lift now.” Dave then insisted that his wife’s assets were fine as they were, telling her: “They’re not bad!”
