Harry Potter star Warwick Davis’ wife dies aged 53 after ‘devastating’ health battle

Harry Potter star Warwick Davis’ wife Samantha has passed away age 53.

Samantha had a health battle in 2018 when she suffered from sepsis. According to reports, she battled sepsis, meningitis and Strep B infections all at the same time.

Paying tribute to his wife, who died on March 24, Warwick said: “Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs.”

He described her as his “most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career”. The filmstar added: “She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.”

Samantha met her famous husband when she was working on his 1988 film Willow. She also had an uncredited role as a goblin in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011.

Warwick and Samantha shared two children together, former Tracy Beaker actress daughter Annabelle, 27, and son Harrison, 21, together.

Annabelle also starred in Hollyoaks up until this year as the character Lacey Lloyd. Whereas, Harrison appeared as a goblin in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Her children also shared a statement and said that “her love and happiness carried us through our whole lives”. They added: “Mum is our best friend and we’re honoured to have received a love like hers.”

The married couple lost their first son Lloyd who died just nine days after he was born due to health complications with dwarfism. Speaking to People in 2022, Davis said: “I think it brings you closer together, or something like that, but it’s an experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone, it’s devastating.

“You do learn to live with it, eventually, over time, you’re able to better understand why it happened and can come to terms with it a bit more, but you never get over it.

“I think the losses shaped our family dynamic, we love Annabelle and Harrison all that more because they’re here with us.”
