Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle faced some tough demons after she established evil Mark Bails had died.
Following a shock phone conversation on the soap last year, Charity took to the grave of her former abuser. She dragged her cousin and ex partner Cain Dingle along with her.
Her mind was once again brimming with painful memories as she attended the grave which stated Mark had died on 5th January of that year. It was following a heart attack that he’d suffered while in prison.

The nasty cop had tried to throw Charity behind bars for her past crimes, but he himself was locked away. She only narrowly avoided prison recently after shooting Chloe’s dad Damon in self-defense.

The situation is even more complex, with Mark being the father of Charity’s son Ryan Stocks (James Moore). She had been pregnant with Ryan during her suffering of his abuse and managed to flee before he had been born.
Charity had believed that her son had passed away at birth but later discovered he’d been put up for adoption. Ryan had been raised by midwife Irene Stocks.
Mark first graced screens when he showed up in 2014 as corrupt detective inspector who was defiant in wanting to put Charity behind bars -he returned again in 2018. She had got herself caught up in an insurance scam at Home Farm in 2013 and faced a two year prison sentence.

This is when Charity confessed all to Vanessa Woodfield that she had been raped and abused at the age of 14. Leaving her pregnant.
After her stint in prison, Charity wanted her just deserts and set out to expose the crooked cop at a police campaign. He was later found guilty of his crimes against her and sentenced to 30-years in the slammer. He never made it out.

Rocky Marshall is the actor who played the nasty Mark Bails on the soap. He certainly seems to be a far cry away from his alter-ego on the soap in every day life.
The 51-year-old who originated in Suffolk would have made quite the commute during his time filming with Emmerdale. Given the soap is filmed in Leeds.

Now residing in the Battersea Park area, South West London, Rocky began his acting career at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. He went on to have starring roles in films such as Mean Machine, Hart’s War and Star Wars: The Force Awakens where he played the role of Colonel Datoo.
Other accolades include his part in the much loved TV drama Mr Selfridge as DI Perkiss, The Royals, Family Affairs, The Bill, Casualty, Holby City, Waking the dead and Law & Order – to name a few.
Apart from that, not much else is known about Rocky as he tends to keep his private life out of the public eye.
